How to get here   Various routes and options

By Car   Autoroutes from Paris A6, the 7 and then 9, coming off at junction 36 Béziers ouest (West) or via Orleans, the A71 then the new route down the centre (a free Autoroute) the A75, this passes through some spectacular countryside as it goes over the Massiff Central.
Airports   Closest - Montpellier and Carcassonne (Béziers for internal flights only)
Not too far - Perpignan, Nîmes and Toulouse but of course you may wish to start and finish your holiday with a few days in Paris, so you could fly into the Capital City (Flying from Paris to a local airport takes about an hour) or make your way by High speed train (TGV - "Train à Grande Vitesse"). It takes about 3h30 from Paris to Béziers therefore :
Railways   From Paris - TGV to Béziers or Autorail to Narbonne.
From U.K. - Eurostar to Lille then by TGV to Béziers
From Barcelona - Talgo to Béziers.
Béziers is the ideal centre for a cycling holiday and cycles are easily transported on the train. There are also good local transport connections (buses and trains) if you do not wish to use a car.
Hire Car   Hiring a car as part of your air ticket is usually the least expensive way, and a great alternative, since hire cars tend to be cheaper there, is to fly into Barcelona in Spain and drive from there. You could spend a few days in the one of the most exciting cities in Europe (home of the architect, Gaudy), then drive to Béziers, visiting some great places along the way.

When to come   Each season is enchanting in its own way

Spring   You can expect all the abundance of a land in bloom, hillsides splashed with the bright yellow of broom (les genets) and an enormous variety of wild flowers, vineyards dressed in the fresh green of young leaves preparing for the heavy fruitfulness to follow, and of course van Gogh's irises gracing borders and verges everywhere.
Summer   The Mediterranean heat, a cerulean sky, intoxicating song of the cicadas and the blissful relief of the shade over the Midi Canal bestowed by the majestic plane trees guarding its banks; seemingly endless evenings yielding effortlessly to balmy romantic moonlit nights.
Autumn   Season of mellow fruitfulness, the culmination of a years’ labour as the heart blood of the land pulses to the rhythm of the grape harvest. Crisp evening air and a less frantic sun as the region gives way to one of its most remarkable unsung glories fall in the vineyards the leaves of each grape variety give a different shade as the slopes transform into a patchwork of extraordinary beauty, ranging from yellow ochre to burnt sienna, via the richest crimson. An eloquent swansong to mark the end of the Summer.
